Should we split New York into downstate and upstate?

As much as I hate downstate politics I think the right path is to win statewide rather than trying to split into two states. I believe in persuading people to think as I do and downstate New Yorkers are objectively hurting themselves and all of our state by supporting far left stupidity. We have to get them to see reality so that they support policies that help us all. A strong NYC is a win for the entire state.
