Clear sticker roll not so clear

Brian Rose

I've ordered die cut labels from Sticker Mule in the past and they're great, but there was a slick deal for a sample of the clear sticker roll for $9 and I wanted to check out the quality. The laser cutting they do ends up scorching the edges of the stickers, turning the clear plastic to a very light yellow, which is visible whether the stickers are put on dark or light backgrounds (like a MacBook). It also causes a raised edge around the entire sticker, which isn't an ideal feel but also gives it a yellow halo or ring when you look closely. I contacted Sticker Mule customer service, and they initially told me this was working as designed. I sent a follow up with more photos, and they recommended I stick to die cut labels if I'm planning to use my stickers on laptops. They did not issue a refund, but they gave me a promo code for $9 off future orders more than $30, which is nice.
