Something Changed

I'll start by saying that I have used Sticker Mule many times for posters. And as a creative director, I've regularly told people that Sticker Mule is the best place to get posters printed. The quality, the price, and speed of delivery are exceptional. But my last order was different. First, the trim was not as precise as it has been in the past. There was a thin white line on the edge of the posters. These are largely black posters and so the line was very obvious. I trimmed them out more precisely. The bigger problem is in how they were shipped. The 11x17 posters I've ordered in the past have always been shipped flat. These were rolled tightly, placed in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a tube. I'm assuming the posters weren't dry when they were put in the plastic sleeve as they were moist when I pulled them out of the plastic. And they had an unpleasant smell, like mold or mildew. Fortunately, the smell as gone away as they have dried. Also, there was none of the cool branding I associate with Sticker Mule. As a creative, I've also appreciated your attention to your brand. That's a signal that you'll respect my branding. The big issue for me is the rolling. I still can't get them to flatten out. And since they were rolled wet, there are areas of the black that have marks on them from the friction against each other. It might seem like a small think, but it is not up to your previous quality. I will continue to order posters from you because your ability to reproduce colors the way I intend is exceptional. But in the past, I've always been so impressed with your attention to detail, your precision, and your level of thoughtfulness. This time, I didn't feel any of that.
