It's a plastic (plexiglass) front with a color copy pasted to the back. The die cut is rough and not smooth, and some of the image backing is damaged which shows through on the front.

10 out of 50 of the pins I ordered broke just while volunteers put them on for a big event we had. Unfortunately I won't know how many of them will actually break, but I don't expect these to hold up at all.
