Not quite waterproof

I have stuck the sticker to a water bottle and allowed 24 hours for adhesion before spraying water. The sticker peeled off the water bottle easily - perhaps because it is too thick? I'm guessing there's about 3 layers - holographic material, the vinyl with the print, and the "weatherproof" laminate. It seems like a very durable sticker, but not waterproof.
