Packaging tape

Creating your own custom packaging tape design is easy! Our packaging tape is 2.81" wide and repeats itself every 12". For a seamless pattern, your design should be formatted to repeat every 12" or any factor of 12" (2, 3, 4, or 6 inches).

While not necessary, you can use our standard packaging tape template to get started. Designs can be formatted in either portrait or landscape.

Alternatively, feel free to send in your artwork as is and note how you'd like your design styled in your instructions. We accept all standard file formats, and we're happy to format everything on our end before sending an online proof for approval.

To use water-activated, custom gummed packaging tape, you’ll need to apply moisture/water to the bottom (non-printed side) of the tape. You can do this manually by using a wet sponge (included with your order) or by using a tape machine/dispenser (sold separately).

Water activated tape (WAT) is used to securely close boxes in a single strip. Our tape bonds instantly to corrugated cartons or box surfaces. When the adhesive is activated with water, it penetrates the box material, and the tape forms a permanent bond with the box. If your box is plastic film coated or heavily painted, the tape may not be able to form a proper bond.

Water activated tape (WAT) is a type of packaging tape that uses a water-activated adhesive to bond with cardboard. The best way to apply water activated tape is with a packaging tape dispenser or a sponge (included with all orders).

Our packaging tape is made from kraft paper and reinforced by fiberglass strands to keep packages reliably closed, making it a secure packaging alternative. Once applied, water activated tape cannot be unpeeled; it is a natural theft deterrent and exposes any signs of tampering.

This type of tape is also called gummed tape, gum tape, or paper tape.
